Have I told you about Miss Kitten? Miss Kitten is my cat. Well, I’m not actually allowed to say that! Because when she hears that, she always gets offended and meows: ” I belong only to myself! Nothing and no one else!

She’s right, but is it so bad that I say that? “Yes!” Miss Kitten rages, “I’ve lived with people long enough who treated me as their property, controlled me, and locked me in their apartment. No offense, there are cats who like that, but it made me very unhappy, and that’s why I flew away!

Yes, you read that right! Miss Kitten has flown away from her old city life and landed in our forest!

First of all, Miss Kitten didn’t really like city life, and secondly, she didn’t experience much of it anyway because she always lived in a small apartment. Alone. Most of the time, anyway. When someone did come home and Miss Kitten wanted to play, she got a slap on the paws or a flick on the ear instead. That hurt. A lot. Especially in her heart.

He was a real “master,” or rather a nasty ruler, with whom she lived at the time. He was always in a bad mood, and no matter how she behaved, he was annoyed with Miss Kitten. She became increasingly sad and insecure, and in the end, she felt truly small and useless.

At least the little boy across the street always waved and smiled at her when she sat by the window and looked out. And even though Miss Kitten wasn’t happy at all, that sweet little smile from the boy gave her hope that she deserved better. The boy was happy when he saw the kitten at the window, and she was happy to see him, and that was a wonderful feeling. She felt very special in that little moment, and it helped her not to give up completely.

On New Year’s Eve, the time had come. The villain had invited people over and festively decorated the apartment for the New Year’s party, with confetti streamers and balloons. After a night of excessive noise and shrillness, during which the kitten mostly hid under the bed, the last guests left the apartment at dawn.

Yawning, the man opened the window, just wanting to get some fresh air before going to bed. Then Miss Kitten suddenly grabbed a handful of balloons and jumped through the open window, eager for adventure. She didn’t know what was coming, but something inside her screamed, “It’s now or never!”

“Not with me anymore!” she cried through the night, vowing never to associate with such nasty creatures or put herself in such a situation again – therefore, she’s quite picky when I say that Miss Kitten is my cat and that I’m not really respecting her feelings.

But let’s continue with the story. After a long flight through the air, the balloons lost more and more air, and the kitten lost more and more altitude. She was actually really happy, because it was so cold up there that her paws were frozen, and she was scared, too. She only knew the world from her window, and now she was flying over forests and lakes. She had never seen anything like it! Everything seemed so big and dark and not at all friendly.

Eventually, she had to land. Tired, exhausted, and panicking, Miss Kitten poked out her claws in defence, but what she felt with her little paws was probably the most wonderful thing she had ever experienced. She sank into a bed of warm, soft moss. As Astrid Lindgren said, anyone who has ever walked barefoot in the Swedish forests in summer will never forget the soft, comforting feeling of freshly grown summer grass and moss.

The air was humid and smelled pleasantly warm, and she heard cheerful birdsong, the flapping of a dragonfly’s wings, and the distant tapping of a woodpecker. There was no buzzing, honking, cursing, growling, screaming, or whining…it simply sounded like peace.

Slowly, a contented tingling sensation crept through her body. Miss Kitten slumped back and looked up through the many tall treetops. Wherever she was, she was now home, and so she fell asleep peacefully.

…and that’s how we discovered her. Sixten and I were picking blueberries and that’s when we found Miss Kitten. She was lying like an angel on a small mossy mound. The sun shone on her white fur, and all that was missing was a hallelujah in the air.

Sixten carried her home to us, and we gave her milk and a sardine to eat. She was so small and scared, and when she told us about her journey, she just cried at first.

Grandma Inga Fox came to visit and took Miss Kitten in her arms and told her about power animals. These are personal companions who appear in animal form. They are considered guardians of people, giving them strength and accompanying them on their journeys. A power animal can also appear in difficult situations or phases of life, supporting and strengthening its charge during these times.

The cat is also a power animal. A cat is free, independent, and supple. If it appears to you, it shows you that only self-determination leads to freedom. We often make our self-worth dependent on the behavior of others. We desire recognition and affection, yet at the same time we fear rejection. The cat as a power animal helps you break free from old patterns, overcome your fear of rejection and criticism, free yourself from the opinions of others, and live according to your own values.

“…and these qualities are all within you, otherwise you wouldn’t be here today.”

When Miss Kitten heard Grandma Inga’s words, her eyes began to shine. It made her so proud that she was such a powerful being, and what can I say? Our little, timid cat was becoming more and more self-confident, stubborn, bitchy, and even vain. Day by day. She’s been with us for quite a while now, and we all love her very much because she has such a big heart and stands up for everyone and fights when she sees someone being treated unfairly.

Did you perhaps see Miss Kitten flying high in the sky? You probably even accompanied her for a bit.
